Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. -Helen Keller
Half-empty or half-full? Where is your faith? Why not focus on getting to all the way full?
Have you ever known a person who has lost before even beginning? Was it a lack of skill that brought defeat or was it a lack of confidence? Believing the universe has conspired against us brings about the inevitable. Defeat.
Consider the universe for a moment. Vast. Infinite beyond imagination. Conspiring against you. Is it possible? Does the universe care enough about one soul to conspire against it? Are you among all to live or to have ever lived that important to gain the ire of the universe? If not, then it is not the universe that conspired against you, but you that conspired against you. Self-defeat.
How can you ever win if you don’t believe it is possible? How can you ever truly lose if you are full of hope and confidence? To the optimistic, losses are only a temporary and minor setback to future success. Those losses still hurt, but they teach as well. From those losses you can recover, adapt, and become better. You can grow in your faith knowing that a victory is possible.

The Virtue of Faith
There are things out there that we cannot see, but we know it is there. Not only do we accept these truths, but we rely upon them with confidence. Our faith goes beyond our belief in God. It extends to our country, our families, and our friends.
