There are some who seem to have King Midas’ golden touch. Everything seems to come easily to them. But this is only my perception. I do not know what struggles they had to overcome to get to where they are today.
As for my own golden touch, I have yet to find it. Every step is a struggle. Every achievement is a battle won in a long war of attrition. I can see my success up ahead. It is there on the top of the mountain, my mountain. There are no roads to the pinnacle, only dense brush, thorns, and pitfalls. There are many obstacles between me and the top. And to tell you the truth, I wouldn’t have it any other way. By climbing this mountain, I will become the person I have always imagined being. Tough. Resilient. Courageous. Unable to give up when all the signs suggest otherwise. This is my quest.
What mountain looms before you? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get to the top?
Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. -Dale Carnegie
